Guardians of the Galaxy?

Um heck yes to Guardians of the Galaxy! All of you know I have quirky ideas, right? And a passion for Marvel? Well this passion has helped me create some pretty cool ideas, but I am truly in love with how this one turned out. The plus side? We are featured in Offbeat Bride for these pictures this week! I cannot think of a better reason to celebrate the second movie in the series coming out than by giving you these pictures to feast on!

The Table Settings

It’s Guardians of the Galaxy, so obviously there is a lot of gold in this. From the linens, to the cutlery, glasses, table chargers. It’s the perfect setting to show of dark pops of blue, green and burgundy. To add a subtle space feel, terrariums were used to hold the flowers. I love the height of the flowers almost as much as the starburst napkin holders. Also, rock candy was added to all the floral arrangements. The Wedding Cake

I sent the idea to my good friend Jennifer and she is so creative that she designed on of the most impressive cakes I have ever seen. From the dark icing with gold splatter for stars. The gold piping grabs your eyes, but the true show stopper? That terrarium in the middle of the cake filled with rock candy. I must add, she added back lighting to the rock candy, and my goodness it just took the cake to a whole new level! Jennifer never ceases to amaze me.Houston nerdy wedding photographer Marvel wedding

The Grooms Cake

Guys! As if having one amazingly talented cake designer wasn’t enough, I also got Ryane to do a grooms cake of Groot. But not tall Groot, who has been seen time and again. No, she was inspired to do a dancing baby Groot to Peter’s music. Just shut the front door. Her work on his likeness is unbelievable, and it makes me with this cake was real.Guardians of the Galaxy Guardians of the Galaxy

Invitations

The invitations tell the guests right away what kind of wedding they are going to. If I got this invitation I would find a dress to match! They don’t come straight out saying “Guardians of the Galaxy”, but Written in the Stars conveys the theme in a fun way. Also, I am a huge sucker for gold lining in in envelopes, and metallic calligraphy, so I guess you could say if this came in the mail for me, I would be putting it on Instagram ASAP.Marvel Wedding Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel wedding inspiration

Dress/Jacket

We were lucky to have someone make the red leather jacket that Star Lord wears. It looks so much like the real things, which is amazing! And the dress has an awesome space print, that is more blues and purples. I love how flowy this dress is, it’s flashes of traditional, and then not at all.celestial dress Peter Quill inspired wedding
