This love story starts in college at a foam party. But the real romance started when Sydney realized that Axel’s favorite cookie is the mighty chocolate chip cookie. As ‘friends’ these two made numerous chocolate chip cookie recipes to find the best and as they did that, they realized they had feels for each other. And to that I say “well done chocolate chip cookies, well done”. I love that I was able to capture this Houston Museum of Natural Science wedding all thanks to a delicious dessert. And in case you remember these two, I did recently blogged their engagement session!
Houston Museum of Natural Science Wedding
The great thing about getting married at the Museum of Natural Science, is that Hotel Zaza is literally 5 minutes from it! Thus, Sydney and Axel got ready there. While Brandi from Laced with Grace was busy making sure everything was going off without a hitch at the museum, Sydney was having a blast with her friends and getting into her gorgeous gown from BHLDN. Axel, on the other hand, was living it up with his brother and friends, while getting into their tuxes from Men’s Warehouse.
Their first look was across the street at the very very popular Mecom Rockwell Colonnade. Living in Houston, you become very aware of cool spots for photos, and this is one of them. But have no fear! All of the photos went off without a hitch and they look gorgeous. The first look was touch, sweet and full of laughter because these two cannot get enough of each other. Sydney’s bridesmaids look beautiful in their dresses from Azazie. And I love how the flowers from Something Borrowed Blooms look with the dresses.
The ceremony and reception at the Houston Museum of Natural Science is something special. This was my second wedding at this venue and it was just as impressive the second time. If you don’t remember this is the geologist wedding with Allison and Jared. I love how there are limitless spots to put the wedding cake, the catering, have the ceremony, etc. Each spot is unique and a conversation starter! I love the cake design Sydney and Axel went with and Sinfully Sweet did such a good job!
The day ended with Sydney and Axel having an absolute blast on the dace floor, surrounded by those that love them most. Axel’s brother even more a dinosaur outfit for part of it! They ended the evening just the two of them having a private last dance…as those they love looked on from the balcony above.
