Hannah had a specific vision for her wedding and bridal session. Her wedding inspiration was Phantom of the Opera, think black and maroon, moody, candelabras. So her bridal session is a mix of that vibe and showcasing the gorgeousness that is Chateau Nouvelle. The venue itself is on the lighter side, so we focused on the library for half the session.
If you love images that scream modern elegance, you are going to adore this Chateau Nouvelle bridal session. As you know, I love bridal sessions. I have captured hundreds since I became a photographer, and you can see from this Creative Chateau bridal session that I love buildings with character. A bridal session is immaculate with a European vibe, am I right?
The Venue: Chateau Nouvelle
Having been sold to the owners of Sandlewood Manor, Chateau Nouvelle has been updated, renovated and brought back to life! The estate features European antiques, Italian hand-painted murals, huge wrought iron glass doors, and lovely gardens with a gazebo. Creating the European feel to the venue, there are historical statues throughout the venue.
The new owners renamed the venue because they saw it as a beacon of love and light. With so many gorgeous spaces, you can see why Chateau Nouvelle is one of the most sought after venues in the Houston area.
Chateau Nouvelle Bridal Session with Hannah
There are so many areas within the venue for photos. This venue is huge! We started the session upstairs in the ceremony location, that has a French-imported Tiffany skylight and French ornate ceiling moldings. This was the perfect spot to start the session! The light that streams in from the windows is unparalleled.
Quickly, we moved from the ceremony location to the winding staircase. This staircase is gorgeous. I love how there is no bad angle, and how a wedding gown looks as it cascades down the steps as the bride walks. You can tell my obsession in the photos!
My favorite spot for the session was the library. Since Hannah’s wedding is more moody, this was the perfect spot to play with light, posing and the furniture. I brought some lighting with me, but I will be honest, we didn’t need it. The light from the windows created perfect shadows and when Hannah put on her blusher veil? Chef’s kiss.
We obviously went to the EJL and courtyard for photos, as both locations are iconic at this venue. And we ended the session outside Chateau Nouvelle, getting photos on the entrance stairway and on the driveway. There is no bad angle at any of these spots, and Hannah looks incredible in all of them.

We were lucky that Garden Party Floral brought more than one bouquet for the session. And both were gorgeous! These bouquets looked stunning covered by Hannah’s veil and on their own. It added drama to the photos, and we had so much fun playing with them!
To complement Hannah’s look, Blushd Beauty did her hair and makeup. With face-framing pieces and her hair half up, Hannah looked like she belonged on the pages of Vogue.
Special thanks to Perfectly Planned for all their hard work getting the vendors together for this session. They are a fabulous wedding planning company in the Houston area.
