Texas Photographer | Magnolia Table and Market Fun!

Wednesday, March 7th, 2018

Last week, when my sister came to visit we knew we wanted to go to Waco for Magnolia Table and Market! In fact we didn’t know Magnolia Table would be open until one of her friends sent her a text saying it had just opened. My sister and I had already booked an Airbnb in Waco just to go to the market, the new restaurant by Chip & Jo Gaines wasn’t really on our radar. It was pure luck that the restaurant opened the week we decided to go!!

Magnolia Table and MarketMagnolia Table opens at 6am and is open until 3pm, so they serve a breakfast and lunch menu. There were a lot of tempting choices, and even have an espresso bar. And as you know, with my love for espresso, I was intrigued by this. But let me rewind to the restaurant itself–the outside is a nice white building with black flower boxes filled will gorgeous greenery. They have the main restaurant area, but if you just want a coffee and pastries, they have a side area just for that, with outdoor seating. They also have an area just for takeout, with a wall of criss-cross greenery that was basically made for picture taking!!

Inside is gorgeous, so much thought went into this restaurant! I loved the tile on the floor and the trademark chandeliers hung around the space. I truly loved the look of the espresso bar and the wall with the wire shelving. It was just thoughtfully put together! There are so many windows that make the space feel spacious and bright.

The food though was outrageously delicious!!!! My sister and I got the same meal: french toast. At regular restaurants you simply get french toast. Here you get eggs, bacon or sausage, tater tots and french toast. It was a big meal, but I loved that I could have a smattering of french toast and then keep it real by eating my eggs first. And the food was made from scratch, including the tater tots. I don’t say this lightly–I was blown away! You can tell the food is homemade by its texture and taste, especially with the french toast. It basically melted in your mouth. And the latte I got wasn’t overly bitter or burnt tasting, and on the flip side, wasn’t too sweet either. It was just a nice, well rounded latte.

When we left, my sister and I knew we had to go back. There are so many amazing looking items on their menu that need to be eaten! Anyone want to go with me in April??

Magnolia Market

This was my third visit to the market, and honestly it never gets old. They had the spring line out and there are some new signs I fell in love with. Thankfully they are priced so high I wasn’t tempted to buy them!! Robert thinks I have a sign problem, like my mug problem. I own too many!! But I did buy some beautiful vases and faux flowers and loved all the greenery.

My other favorite spot, outside the main store, is the garden area. It’s so peaceful. And since spring is here, there were butterflies and bees all around, doing their thing. I also picked up one of Joanna’s new candles there, the greenhouse scent. I have already burnt it a few times and even Robert likes it.

Lastly, no trip to Magnolia Market is finished without going to the bakery. My sister and I were full from breakfast, so we picked out cupcakes to go. They had some cute seasonal flavors, which is obviously an incentive for me to come back every 3 months!!

So, overall, it was an epic visit to Magnolia Table and Market! For sure now I will be doing the Airbnb thing when I go. There is so much to see and do just at Magnolia Table and Market, that getting a good rest in between is just the smart thing to do. I say this again, who wants to go in April??
