I recently highlighted wedding traditions to leave in 2024, so now it’s time to focus on all the 2025 wedding trends I am looking forward to! These are GOOD. As Houston’s best wedding photographers, I get a first-hand look into all the upcoming trends. These 2025 wedding trends have me so excited for the next year! So, if you are planning your wedding and looking for the best inspo, you’re in the right place.
2025 Wedding Trends to Look Forward To
Before anything else, remember that your wedding should be all about YOU. If something doesn’t fit your style, vibes, or aesthetics, that’s okay! Trends date weddings, so strategically picking the ones that fit them best is the way to go. You deserve the best day!
Bows
These have been in style for a hot minute, but I think we are going to see even more of them in 2025. They started in neutral colors, but now they are popping up everywhere in every color and used in unique ways. They are so much fun! And I don’t think they are going anywhere anytime soon! 
Bold Color Palettes
Many couples are starting to add more color to their big day, incorporating bold, unique, or unexpected shades. I love how they are using black to have the bold colors against them, creating that beautiful contrast. Black and white weddings will always be a classic, but I LOVE color and to see it coming back in a big way is such a fun way to show off your personality! 
Sustainable Decorations
Sustainability is becoming more important in the wedding industry, and so many couples are looking for ways to make their wedding day Earth-friendly. A big way to do that?! Florals. Talk to your florist about making centerpieces or arches foam-free, and use florals that are seasonally available in your area. Work with your planner to donate the flowers at the end of the day! Women’s shelters or retirement communities are good places for those! And don’t forget your wedding attire. It doesn’t have to be brand new! Men can rent their suits, and check out a vintage shop for wedding gowns. Usually rent their suits, and there are vintage or resale shops that sell wedding gowns. Plus, vintage is very popular, so you never know what you might find. You can also rent or borrow things like linens, dishware, seating, or carpeting to avoid items sitting in your garage for years or being thrown out! Another way to create a more sustainable day is to skip the grand exit entirely! At the end of the night, there are only certain people left, so why not have an after party instead?! Sparklers, confetti, and string poppers all leave a considerable mess around, so skipping that entirely is a great way to be better for the environment! 
Giving Your Guests A Culinary Experience
This can include a dedicated menu that takes your guests on a journey! Or you can even have guests involved in the cooking process for an even better guest experience! Food is a great way to celebrate your love! I love the food stations at weddings that give people different options and not be pigeonholed into one specific type of meal. 
Nancy Myers Aesthetic
This one snuck up on us in 2024! It started with a love for the coastal granny look and then combined with a passion for Nancy Myers films, and here we are with weddings full of blues, creams, whites with wicker baskets, oysters, and an abundance of Cape Cod references. It’s part nostalgia from the movie Father of the Bride, mixed with the gorgeous coastal feel of Something’s Gotta Give. This is a 2025 wedding trend I can’t get enough of! 
Draping
Again, this trend came in at the beginning of this year, and the 2025 wedding trend will be here to stay! It has BLOWN UP. You can have draping everywhere or at strategic places in the reception space. I love how it transforms a room’s look, and how a little goes a long way. I have seen it used as a photobooth look, draping on the back of ceremony or reception chairs, and the most popular is draping in arches from the ceiling to the ground. It is romantic and when paired with candles, it’s a VIBE. It works in any space, from a warehouse to a barn to a museum or a tent. So gorgeous!
