Houston has a ton of hair and makeup artists, which is fantastic because with all the weddings and sessions that happen on the daily, we need a good selection. Over the years I have worked with or hired some amazing artists! Today I feature 5 that left an impression with me and who have knocked it out of the park on more than one occasion. Twisted Couture
I have paired a ton with Jamie from Twisted Couture. She is wildly talented, we have done soft and romantic looks, as well as more dramatic and creative looks. I love that we have paired together on some badass styled shoots that have been seen on Cosmo, Redbook and PopSugar! We also did a fun session last year with envisioning what Disney princesses would look like today. It was wild looking!! All the clients I have sent to her have loved her, and she is just a great person.
Bespoken Beauty
I met Bridget from Bespoken Beauty at a photo shoot for Olivia’s Bridal House. She nails the soft and romantic look so so so well. I love how she makes soft curls on clients look effortless. Bridget and her team keep on top of hair trends and when I want to know what is new, I check out her instagram page. On top of it, she is super sweet and the best mom to a cute little boy. Sunkissed & Made up
This team books up fast y’all!! When I get a client who wants to use them, I always tell them to get on it because I know they might not be available. This is a true testament to how great they are! They do these gorgeous styled shoots when not serving clients and have been featured in a ton of cool places. One of my favorite things they do each year is a theme for Halloween hair and makeup. One year they did Greek goddesses, and I was stunned! You need to look at their Instagram feed, it’s so inspiring. I have captured their work at styled shoots, and they always blow me away!
Etoilly Artistry
Earlier this year I did a photo shoot and Etoilly was there to do the hair and makeup. They put me at ease as they worked on me. I was a bit nervous, as I don’t love being in front of the camera. They made me look gorgeous and I loved how they brought out my natural beauty! After being their client, I started to follow them more on social media, and have been blown away by what they do. I love how they make a woman look effortlessly beautiful. Seriously, if you’ve never heard of them, you need to check them out!
Ashley Granados Makeup Artistry
When I first started capturing weddings I met Ashley. I loved how she did dramatic looks that captured on camera like magic! We have paired together on a few creative projects, and she has always been so easy to work with. One of my favorite things that she does is a great smokey eye and lashes. I don’t know how she does it, but I can always tell in my feed when she has worked on someone! That’s talent, being so consistent, you know what their work is from a mile away.
