Once I got to know Kathryn and Woody, I knew we were in for a wedding that was not just emotional and romantic, but also full of joy and FUN. They had the classic wedding florals from HEB Blooms, blue accents throughout their wedding, for a sweet Southern look. Balancing that, they had a few trendy touches like a cute newspaper program for their wedding ceremony and a robust TikTok video request list, showing that they were a mix of classic and modern as a couple. And if you know Kathryn and Woody, you will know that is exactly them. A beautiful balance of fun and modern with a romantic Southern flair. And boy, are these two in love.
A Romantic Fall Wedding at the Blue Magnolia in Houston
Their wedding at the Blue Magnolia was a stunner! The day was warm and sunny (initially), a good omen in my books. Kathryn wanted to have a first look with those who were important to her, not only her Dad, but also other family members (specifically her grandmother). Her grandmother had the sweetest reaction to seeing Kathryn in her dress. And what a dress! The floral appliques popped off in a way that gave the dress a romantic look and amazing texture. And it fit her like a freaking glove. She was glowing. Woody was all about the fun! He ran around the venue with his nine groomsmen, being a menace in the funnest way possible. They looked freaking handsome in their grey suits and blue ties. Woody wore a slightly darker grey because that man needed to stand out, and he did. My team had an incredible time capturing him with his boys, you could tell they had strong friendships.
But the magic really started when Kathryn walked down the aisle and locked eyes with Woody. The energy in the room changed. Both of them got emotional and you can feel it in the photos. For the rest of the day, they were inseparable. From portraits to the dance floor, they didn’t leave each other’s side. You can see in the dancefloor photos how much these two love each other but also how much fun they have together. That joy and love made for one of the most fun, incredible receptions! Congratulations you two, it was an honor to capture your wedding.
