Before showcasing this gorgeous Creative Chateau and Houston Arboretum engagement session, we have to discuss Taylor and William’s love story. The first time Taylor saw William walk in a room she had instant butterflies. “He was such a genuine person and it felt like we’d known each other for years. He made me laugh and our date was constant witty banter, which I love. After our first date I knew it was going to be something spectacular.” William said he was intimidated by Taylor’s beauty, ambition, and independence. Her confidence instantly drew him to her.
The Proposal
The couple’s favorite winery is William Chris Vineyards in Fredericksburg, Texas. On a spring break trip back to that vineyard, William made a toast saying, “Here’s to possibly the best day of our lives.” After 10 minutes, with a picnic spread in front of them, William asked someone to take their photo. As Taylor began to pose, William dropped to one knee and asked Taylor to be his wife. The rest of their week was spent with friends and family celebrating. William even had his family from North Carolina in town to surprise Taylor with a joint family dinner to celebrate the engagement.

Engagement Session
When you can’t choose just one, do a dual-location engagement session. A more formal vibe with a pop of vibrant colors fit in perfectly with The Creative Chateau. Following that we headed to the Houston Arboretum to capture their playful spirit (can’t you just HEAR Taylor’s laughter in these photos?!) outdoors. I am so impressed that Taylor’s makeup thrived in the heat, and we know it’s all because she hired a super talented hair and makeup artist Brittany Blanchard.
