Anastasia’s Bridal Session at Barr Mansion
For Anastasia’s bridal session at Barr Mansion, Ana, her mom and I took a road trip together! Since Barr Mansion is in Austin, it just made sense for us to drive together. Ana and I reminisced about her dreamy engagement session at McGovern Centennial Gardens as well as discussing all the fun things for her upcoming wedding. We also might have sang along loudly to a lot of songs! It was so wonderful to get to know Ana’s mother, she is a bright light and a I can see where Ana gets her silly side from. It was wonderful to watch her love on her daughter the entire day, from doing the driving to fluffing her gown. It was really special for her to be there and I am glad she came. This is one of the reasons why I love bridal sessions so much, it gives mothers a chance to love on their daughters. I know I don’t capture this, but to experience it is truly special.
Ana’s Wedding Day Look
Anastasia’s look for her wedding day is nothing short of stunning. She went with a fitted Martina Liana gown that is trimmed with lace. It has an open back that has lace trimmed around the bottom edges. But what I love best is the train, it is long and dramatic! Overall, the fitted style, with the romantic lace and long train looks perfect on her! Her gown was fun to play with and as a Houston wedding photographer, I have played with a lot of gowns, so I know these things. There is boning in the train, so it always fell nicely. And we can’t forget how beautiful her hair and makeup is! Ana went with a long braid, peppered with white magnolias. She has a few strands of hair curled to frame her face, and it’s such a gorgeous look on her. I love the smoky eye she has with the winged eyeliner. But my favorite is that the foundation didn’t cover her freckles, which I love! All the credit goes to the talented team at Hey Lovely Makeup.
Barr Mansion Bridals
Barr Mansion is a freaking cool venue. It has seven acres of gardens, land and, of course, the buildings of the venue. In true Austin fashion, their kitchen offers farm-to-table cuisine that they serve at all their events and weddings. And the food is delicious! For Anastasia’s bridal session, we did photos in their victorian mansion, which was built in 1898. Part of me hopes it is haunted, so I can find ghosts in my photos! For this bridal session at Barr Mansion, Anastasia wanted to do lots of photos around the property, and in particular with their purple couch. I love how this venue is an oasis for beautiful plants, and there were lots of small nooks we took photos in. As a sucker for sun-kissed photos, I took this as an opportunity to capture Ana in as many sun soaked areas as I could. Tell me in the comments your favorites!
