I love getting outside of Houston for an engagement session. If you drive even an hour or so outside of its limits, the landscape changes, the foliage, everything. When Mairssa and Ryan said they wanted to do their session at the McKinney Cotton Mill I loved it so much! The architecture there is unique and I couldn’t wait to explore it with them. Get yourself ready for this McKinney Cotton Mill engagement session, it’s freaking good! Marissa and Ryan moved to the same neighborhood in 2012. Ryan became friends with Marissa’s brother, and their families started spending a lot of time together. These two even went on several family vacations together before getting together! They eventually began dating in January 2017, and the rest is history.
The Proposal
Ryan proposed to Marissa in one of my favorite cities in the world New York City! He took her to Gapstow Bridge, hired a professional photographer and even planned a brunch with their families after the proposal. Talk about knocking it out of the park. One of my faovirte things about the proposal is that Marissa made him empty his pockets when she realized what was happening so that he looked great for the photos. A woman after my own heart!
McKinney Cotton Mill Engagement Session
The engagement session was in the later part of the afternoon and the weather was perfect. I love the outdoor space behind the building with the waterfall, those were such perfect photos! But the exposed brick everywhere is just gorgeous, we had so much fun! Marissa and Ryan truly like each other, so all their photos were easy and you can tell how much they love each other in the images. Near the end of the session, we broke out their film camera and snapped some cool photos of them with it! I think they will be happy to know I recently invested in a film camera and plan to bring it to their wedding.
