Jaquelyn is a happy married woman today! She and Justin were married yesterday at the gorgeous Astin Mansion and we had the best time! But we are not here about that, now are we? We are here to look at all the stunning photos we took of Jaquelyn at her Rice University bridal session!
Jaquelyn’s Look
Jaquelyn got her hair and makeup done by the super talented Angela Karr Hair and Makeup Artistry. Jaquelyn’s hair stayed curly the entire bridal session, and you know how Houston can kill curls quickly! Her wedding gown, with the soft lace on the bodice, is from Weddings by Debbie. And if you have looked through my blog feed lately, you will have seen Lexi and Cody’s wedding at Bridal Oaks, and Lexi was wearing a gown from Weddings by Debbie! Lastly, Jaquelyn’s bridal look was completed by gorgeous flowers from College Park Flowers. Those pops of pink agains the white wedding gown take my breath away. Her bridal look is so stinkin magical!
Rice University Bridal Session
Why Rice University for these bridal portraits? Well, Jaquelyn and Justin’s wedding venue is an old mansion with a lot of exposed red brick. For me, it felt like the images would look super consistent if Jaquelyn had her photos in a space that had a similar look and feel. Plus, she loves the architecture, and I can’t blame her! We visited a ton of different places along the campus and had a ball. As a local Houston wedding photographer who has captured quite a few sessions and a wedding on campus, I am always surprised by how I can find something new on Rice’s campus each time I photograph there.
I have to confess, bridal sessions are some of my favorite things to capture as a Houston wedding photographer. There is something about getting the bride in her gown, all dolled up, that is truly special. Having captured quite a few Houston weddings, it never gets old doing bridal sessions. I am so happy with how Jaquelyn’s Rice Uniersity bridal session went and I hope you love the photos too!
