When Jordan and Kelsey hired me for their wedding they had dreams of getting married on the beach in Galveston, a gorgeous spot for weddings! I knew right away it was going to be a fun and sentimental Galveston wedding. These two compliment each other in the best ways, and it was obvious at their wedding that those in attendance saw this as well. From the personalized touches in their wedding day, to their emotional first dances, this wedding honored that connection.
If you remember, Kelsey and Jordan met on a dating app! Their love story is detailed in their Harry Potter inspired Houston engagement session at Discovery Green. These two knew from the start there was something there. And I am so glad they knew right away! It lead to this gorgeous Galveston wedding, and I am here for it.
Sentimental Galveston Wedding on the Beach
As the wedding was at the beach, the colors for the wedding were navy and grey. Jordan wore a blue jacket and pants, while Kelsey wore a flowing white dress. Since the wedding was on the beach, everything was laid back. I especially loved the engraved ring box and the Texas themed guest book, but most importantly the wedding cake with word “Always” on top. I mean, give me every Harry Potter wedding detail please!
Touching Wedding Ceremony Looking onto the Beach
Kelsey and Jordan’s wedding ceremony was equal parts touching and hilarious! Why was it hilarious? They had a flower dude walk down the aisle delicately tossing flower petals in the air! Everyone in attendance laughed really hard. The vows though were 100% touching and there were some wet eyes in the audience. They had a good friend perform the ceremony, and something I wish I had done for my own wedding! It felt like the vows meant more coming from a friend.
My favorite part of their sentimental Galveston wedding was the emotional moments with their parents. Kelsey and Jordan both had tear-filled first dances with their dads. Since both parents have medical issues, this dance meant a lot to their families. I might have teared up behind my camera. But I get emotionally involved with my clients! I know Kelsey and Jordan are happy they had these dances as Kelsey’s parents have passed away since their wedding. It has been a tough year for these women and my heart hurts for them. I am so grateful I could capture images of them with Kelsey’s parents so they have them to look back on.
