I was magnetically attracted to this Summer in Bloom: Brides of Houston editorial when the Brides of Houston team reached out to me! The team at Brides of Houston planned an editorial series for their fall/winter print publication called “Seasons of Love”. Different teams are brought together to create a different season of the year, mine is summer! Summer is known for heat and bright, fun colors, and this is what we got. The design board I was sent had bright pops of pinks, coral and yellow juxtaposed against white and green. I am obsessed with everything about this editorial!

If I had to pick a favorite part of this shoot, I don’t think I could. And this shoot was set at the gorgeous Woodlands Country Club, and we used their deck for a majority of the shoot. It is a very popular space in Houston for weddings and I can see why! I freaking love Joyful Soul Calligraphy‘s invitation suite and signage. She used lots of pinks and yellows in her work and it looks gorgeous. Add to it Inheritance Floral Design’s flowers and BAM! everything just pops! Inheritance used a combination of tulips. roses, nigella, carnations and dried baby’s breath in different summery shades throughout the shoot, and I am specifically in love with the bouquet.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved the modern touches, like the circular table, in this editorial. And it made the place setting elements from Avalon Event Rentals look almost vintage! The circular gold chairs and the pink and gold utensils add to this vintage feel. However, the cake by Lane and Simple had a gorgeous pop of color on the second tier that coordinated with the flowers and signage beautifully.
And all of this came together with the model, who wore an open-back gown from Brickhouse Bridal, that made me wish I could pull something like that off! And the pearl the dangles along the open back for the necklace was an inspired touch. Brittany Blanchard Beauty really knocked it out of the park with the hair and makeup. Plus, I loved the low bun, and how soft the look was. It made everything tie together. So I am completely obsessed with this Summer in bloom: Brides of Houston editorial!
