When Ana inquired with me, for what feels like a million years ago, she needed my photography skills for a reception moreso than a wedding. And I understood why, they were getting married elsewhere and celebrating with family here in Houston. So this was going to be fun coverage of their families celebrating. And I was totally up to the task! Instead of capturing a ceremony and getting ready photos, I did a first look with Ana and Yaqoub and then we did family photos. Then we ended the night with great food and dancing! It turned into a delightful Houston wedding reception at La Tranquila Ranch.
Ana + Yaqoub
These two met in college in 2010, Yaqoub was Ana’s TA. During the speeches I learned that he might have helped Ana with her homework…or possibly done some of it for her! The attraction was strong between these two, and they have grown to love trying new restaurants together and traveling. I always ask my couples what they love about each other, and their responses were beautiful. Ana loves Yaqoub’s kind heart and how incredibly intelligent he his. And during the reception I could see, in the small ways, how kind and in love he was with Ana. For Yaqoub, he loves not only her sense of humor but also how much she trusts him and has faith in him. The key takeaway? These two are not afraid to be honest with each other, to work together to be a strong couple. The love and respect they have for each other was obvious! I have no doubt that whatever life throws at them, they will handle it.
