When I was chatting with Lauren and Taylor about their engagement session, they really wanted part of it to be a Houston skyline engagement session. And you know I am not mad about it. I love the downtown skyline. Then Lauren said the magic words: “we want to bring champagne and drink some out of Chick-Fil-A cups”. At this point I was 1000% in. We had postponed their engagement session because of lockdown, so to have this amount of fun right out of the gate was exciting for me. So we met at the crack of dawn and had an epic engagement session!
Houston Skyline Engagement Session
We met at dawn at the Sabine St bridge and the lighting was perfect. For all my couples to get used to being captured, I had them do a few pictures of them just smiling at me. It always helps loosen them up and get used to me being there. Then we start to have some fun, and I start saying weird things from behind the camera and everyone is laughing! Taylor did a great job with the champagne pop, that photo is 100% one of my favorites.
After the skyline photos, we did an outfit change (“we” being Lauren and Taylor ha ha) and did some romantic photos at the Houston Arboretum. I love this park because it offers you so many different places to capture people and no two sessions look the same there.
How Taylor Proposed
For two weeks leading up to the actual proposal, there was the wrapped ring box sitting under the Christmas tree. Taylor was refusing to tell Lauren what it was, even though Lauren already knew. After Lauren got home from work on Christmas Eve morning, they went to Chick-fil-A for breakfast before she took a nap. That same afternoon, they drove up to her parent’s house for their annual Christmas Eve dinner and for presents. Before Taylor let Lauren change out of her pajamas, he got down on one knee in front of her parents. She said “What the hell are you doing?!?………YES!!!!”.
I love how Taylor couldn’t wait for Lauren to get changed and did it right in front of her family. So good!!
