Two Badass Wedding Venues in Houston

Monday, April 1st, 2019

These two badass wedding venues in Houston are very different from each other, like in my previous blog. I love featuring Houston wedding venues that are totally different, so you get a good idea as to the variety across the city. Both of these wedding venues have a totally different feel, one in downtown Houston and the other in College Station. I love them both for completely different reasons!

Two Badass Wedding Venues in Houston:

Peach Creek Ranch

Peach Creek Ranch is located in College Station, TX, so it is a bit of a drive from Houston. But honestly, it’s worth the drive. It is a barn-style wedding venue that has a ton of awesome amenities. My personal favorite is that there is a cottage for both the bride and the groom to get ready in. A lot of times, unless you are in a hotel, the groom gets the sloppy seconds when it comes to getting ready. I love that there is a designated space for him and that it is really nice. It makes it easy, as a Houston wedding photographer, to capture images in that kind of atmosphere.

I also love the waterfront wedding ceremony area that can be decorated in different ways, for different vibes. It’s a big space that can hold up to 275 seated people, which is great for big weddings. From my experience there, it has never felt overly crowded, regardless of the quantity of people invited. Also, the chandeliers in the barn are freakin gorgeous and make first dances look elegant AF. If a barn wedding venue is your jam, you seriously need to consider Peach Creek Ranch!!

Nouveau Antique Art Bar

Pronounced “New-Vo”, this Houston wedding venue is one of the most unique in all of Houston! It has a huge collection of Tiffany lamps that are hung from the ceiling, and make wedding photos look almost unmatched. This wedding venue works best for couples who want a dark, more distinctive look to them. The walls are painted all black and there aren’t any windows, but when you add flash, it turns into badass looking pictures! Like the Dunlavy, Nouveau Antique Art Bar doesn’t have a place for the couple to get ready, all my couples have gotten ready at a hotel before the wedding ceremony or reception. Although the website doesn’t say how many people they can fit, I can tell you the wedding ceremony is 50 people or less but the reception can double that number.

Located in mid-town, this Houston wedding venue has a lot of cool photography areas around it, so you can nip away for fun photos, if you desire. If you aren’t totally into driving everywhere on your wedding day, there are lots of spots around the building for photos too. I truly love this venue and love how unique it is.
