Colleen and Bill’s engagement session at Houston’s 1940’s Air Terminal Museum was as gorgeous as it was unique. Houston’s 1940’s Airport Terminal Museum was designed by local architect Joseph Finger. The terminal opened in the fall of 1940 and was a fully functional airport until spring of 1955. Now a museum, this space hosts events and allows photoshoots, like this engagement session. You should check out their website, because what they are doing there is really interesting! I am a sucker for old school anything, so seeing these older planes in person was a thrill for me.

Engagement Session at Houston’s 1940’s Air Terminal Museum

When we were discussing idea’s for their engagement session in Houston, I asked Colleen and Bill what they liked to do together. As you know, from my previous posts about how to get the most from your engagement session, this is the best starting point for couples.

Colleen and Bill love traveling together. They have been to Bali, Los Cabos, the Napa Valley and New York City to name a few. So doing their engagement session at Houston’s 1940’s Air Terminal Museum fit them perfectly! We were able to do photos outside and inside the planes, as well as various places within the museum. It was awesome!

After the museum photos, we went to McGovern Centennial Gardens and finished the session there. Even in their casual clothes Bill and Colleen looked fabulous. Colleens pink sweater matched perfectly with the flowers, it was uncanny!

The Proposal

These two met on match.com and shortly after went on a date at Canyon Creek in early 2018. After a little over a year and a half, these two knew without a shadow of a doubt they wanted to get married. Colleen shares that she and Bill flew home the day after Christmas and Bill told her he had a nice dinner planned with his friend Cheng at Mastros.

“He told me we were going to Mastros because he got a holiday gift card from work. I didn’t want to go because we were tired from all the travel but he told me we had to go because it was his best friend. Right before dinner, Cheng messaged me and told me to meet him at Post Oak hotel, right next to Mastros to finish champagne before dinner. We ended up going to the hotel room and there he had setup, hundreds of candles and balloons and 3000 rose petals saying “marry me.” Time McGraw was playing as we walked in! Then he got down on BOTH knees and asked the question.”
